To keep the stick inside the cookie, I separated the cookie layers, dipped a lollipop stick in melted chocolate and placed it on the cream side of the cookie,
surrounded it with lemon icing, and then put the cookie layers back together.
Then I let the cookies set in the freezer for a few minutes.
After the sticks were firmly in place, I dipped the whole cookie in the yellow melting chocolate and topped it off with a quick dip into yellow sprinkles.
The faces, feet and wings are drawn on with piping gel.

ReplyDeleteOh these are so sweet. Love the little chick fluff with the candies on their heads. I am hosting a Spring Battle of the Cookers and Crafters and would love for you to share these for a chance to win. They would for sure get a vote from me.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I saw the picture on adventure of diy mom link party and thought they looked like a great project for my 3 year old... till I saw how much sugar ingredients you used. Not knocking the sugar though, but for my own sanity I am pinning these for a special occasion LOL. Seriously love the idea... thinking baby shower or party treat :))
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about the sugar+kids=crazy equation. I only made a few of these and we shared them with a neighbor who is a bit under the weather. I told my kids they'll have to wait until Easter, and we'll make 1 for each of them then!
DeleteAn idea...You could use those new "good-for-you" Oreo type cookies (I think they're called Whonu?)and use cream cheese instead of the lemon frosting...
These are adorable! Would love for you to share these at our Kitchen Fun Friday party that will be up tomorow night! http://kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com
